Why We Fundraise at NCA Dance Studio

NCA Dance Studio is a community-centered program dedicated to providing quality instruction for dancers of all skill levels.

While weekly classes form the core of our instruction, NCA also offers a range of program enhancements throughout the year that support teamwork, confidence-building, performance readiness, and a positive studio culture.

Fundraising helps support these program-wide enhancements without increasing tuition or adding individual fees throughout the year. This ensures that all dancers can participate in the full scope of opportunities offered at NCA.

What Tuition Covers

Tuition helps maintain the studio where your dancer trains and grows. It supports our practice space by covering rent, utilities, and essential operating expenses. Along with the following:

• Instructor compensation and preparation time
• Curriculum development and choreography
• Program supplies used throughout the year

Tuition is intentionally structured to cover the core instructional and operational needs of the program, ensuring dancers receive consistent, well-planned training each week.

What Fundraising Supports

Fundraising allows us to offer enhanced program experiences that extend beyond regular weekly instruction. These enhancements strengthen dancer development, build community, and create meaningful opportunities throughout the year. Fundraising helps support:

• Team-building activities and group events
• Themed weeks and seasonal programming
• Holiday activities and studio-wide celebrations
• DJ services, decorations, and event materials
• Parade participation, float supplies, and character appearances
• Music mixes and specialized production needs
• Recital enhancements, including venue rental, trophies, and keepsake items
• Anniversary recognitions and dancer appreciation items
• Additional rental space for large-group activities and rehearsals
• Extra treats, giveaways, and supplementary resources for dancers

These program-wide enhancements are made possible through collective fundraising efforts, allowing all dancers to benefit without additional per-event fees or increased tuition.

SEASON 2026

As we scale back on the number of fundraisers, per family feedback, the scope of program-wide enhancements may also be adjusted. While we will continue to offer meaningful experiences that support dancer development and studio culture, not all activities listed above will be provided every season.

Event offerings will be planned based on available resources each year to ensure we maintain a balanced, sustainable program without increasing tuition or adding additional fees.

Our goal remains the same: to provide a positive, supportive environment for dancers while being mindful of the time and financial commitments of our families.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we have fundraisers?

Fundraisers help pay for the extra activities and events we offer during the year. This helps us keep tuition affordable and avoids charging families extra fees for each event.

Will we have all the same events every year?

No. Since we are reducing the number of fundraisers, some events may change or may not happen every year. What we offer will depend on the money raised and what the program can support that season.

Can I choose not to take part in the extra activities?

No. These activities are part of our program for all dancers. They support teamwork, confidence, and a positive studio environment.

What does my tuition pay for?

Tuition pays for weekly classes, instructor compensation, studio space, lesson plans, and basic program needs. It covers the cost of running the classes.

What does fundraising pay for?

Fundraising helps cover the extra things we do as a program, such as team-building events, holiday activities, parade participation, music mixes, recital costs, and any additional activities.

Can fundraising money go toward my dancer’s account?

Yes. For our one fundraiser that allows credits, the minimum requirement will be lowered significantly. After you meet that minimum, any amount earned beyond it can be applied to your dancer’s account for dance-related expenses. We will share the minimum and details before the fundraiser begins.

Why not raise tuition instead of fundraising?

Fundraising allows us to keep tuition at a level that is accessible for families. Without fundraising, tuition would need to go up or many of our extra activities would need to be removed.
